Job Description

About Health Payment Systems, Inc. (HPS/PayMedix)
Health Payment Systems, Inc. (HPS/PayMedix), is redefining how people access and pay for healthcare. We bring together provider networks, payments and financing, and industry partners to remove financial barriers and simplify the healthcare experience for everyone involved.

Our team is solving one of the biggest challenges in healthcare: the flow of money and information between providers and consumers. The work we do improves access, reduces financial stress, and is reshaping how healthcare works at its most fundamental level.

Our solutions include:

  • HPS Network: a high-performing, independent provider network in Wisconsin that helps employers control costs while maintaining strong access to care.
  • PayMedix: a national healthcare payments platform that pays participating providers in full for all allowed charges regardless of consumer cost-share. Members receive consolidated medical information and billing, and receive interest-free financing if they need it.
  • TempoPay: a flexible healthcare benefit solution that gives eligible individuals a simple, predictable way to pay for care over time, with zero interest or fees.

Join us in our mission to make the healthcare payments experience simpler, more transparent, and more connected – so people can focus on getting care when they need it, not when they think they can afford it.

About The Role
The Sales Account Executive supports the Sales team by helping promote, educate customers on, and sell Health Payment Systems' SuperEOB®, Preferred Provider Network, and ancillary product lines to Wisconsin-based health insurance agents, third-party administrators, brokers/consultants, and employer groups.

This role will work closely with sales leadership to identify and develop new business opportunities, educate the market on HPS solutions, support the sales process, and build strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.

The ideal candidate is results-driven, confident, organized, and highly communicative, with knowledge of the self-funded healthcare market and an ability to build relationships with brokers, consultants, TPAs, employer groups, and other industry stakeholders. We're looking for a self-starter who has a strong work ethic, takes ownership of follow-up, and is motivated to grow into a larger sales role over time.

This role reports directly to the VP of Business Development & Client Engagement and follows a hybrid schedule, with 2–3 days per week onsite at our Milwaukee, WI office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own and develop relationships with brokers, consultants, TPAs, employer groups, and other key partners across the Wisconsin market.
  • Build pipeline by identifying target accounts, leveraging referrals, networking within the market, and representing HPS at industry events and conferences.
  • Lead consultative sales conversations, uncover customer needs, and position HPS solutions around the outcomes that matter most to each prospect.
  • Partner with Sales leadership on pricing, proposals, and strategy for high-priority opportunities.
  • Educate prospects and customers on HPS solutions through presentations, meetings, and market-facing conversations.
  • Stay close to market trends, competitors, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and sharpen the sales approach.
  • Build lasting customer relationships by remaining engaged after the sale and ensuring a strong experience as accounts transition into the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience in healthcare, insurance, or employee benefits.
  • Experience working within the self-funded healthcare market, including payers, TPAs, brokers, consultants, or employer groups.
  • Experience managing a full sales cycle from prospecting through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce or similar CRM systems

Key Attributes for Success

  • Action Oriented: Proactively creates momentum, takes ownership of opportunities, and follows through without waiting for direction, while showing the drive to learn and take on greater responsibility over time.
  • Drives Results & Builds Networks: Builds trusted relationships across the market and leverages those connections to create opportunities, move deals forward, and consistently deliver strong sales outcomes.
  • Clear & Collaborative Communicator: You communicate clearly and professionally across teams to gather information, share updates, and keep work aligned. You stay responsive, follow up proactively, and work well with others to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

  • Compensation:
  • Base salary range: $85,000 + commission, depending on experience
  • Benefits: medical, dental, vision, HSA with company contribution, 401k/Roth with company match, 15 days of PTO, and more.
  • Hybrid Work:
  • This role follows a hybrid schedule with 2–3 days per week onsite in our Milwaukee office. Candidates should also be available for local client and partner meetings as needed, occasional evening events, and periodic overnight travel for conferences or industry events.
  • Equal Opportunity & Workplace Environment:
  • We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees can thrive.
