IS INFORMATICS MANAGER
The Information Services (IS) Informatics Manager is a leader responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of the clinical and revenue informatics team services across the health system. This role partners with IS leaders, project managers, operational leaders, providers, and VP stakeholders across the FS and FH system to align technology capabilities with organizational initiative and stakeholder goals. This individual serves as a key liaison between stakeholders and the IS Informatics Team driving workflow alignment, adoption, optimization, while supporting excellence.
- Serve as the primary operational owner of the Information Services Department Epic Informatics Team service delivery. Overseeing onboarding, support coverage, support documentation (service desk), workflow alignment, Epic upgrade life cycle, go-live support, and ongoing day to day task optimization.
- Coordinate Epic build, testing activities, change control, and environment management activities in alignment with the FS Epic Community Connect partner standards.
- Partner with leadership, project managers, and clinical informatics staff to manage upgrades, quarterly releases, and new module deployments.
- Track and communicate affiliate-specific Epic activation timelines, training milestones, and go-live readiness across departments.
- Serve as escalation point for Community Connect affiliate issues requiring coordination between the affiliate, IS operations, and Epic directly.
IS Operations & Service Delivery
- Oversee credentialed training program
- Participate in change management processes from request through approval process
- Manage FS documentation for variance from FH/ThedaCare workflow
- Monitor service desk throughput and documentation
- Coordinate on-call schedules and after-hours support coverage for informatics team
- Maintain PTO request, call-in, and coverage coordinating / documentation
- Provide coaching and mentoring to informatics team; identify succession planning opportunities.
- Participate in ongoing downtime planning process improvement
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, customer service excellence, and collaboration within the IS team
Strategic Planning & Budget Management
- Contributes to the development of the IS strategic plan, operational roadmap, and capital/operating budget.
- Contributes the IS operations budget, monitor expenditures, forecast needs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with IS leadership to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend investments that improve clinical and operational outcomes.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional committees and governance bodies related to technology, informatics, and Community Connect program strategy.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Community Connect affiliate leadership, translating technical matters into accessible, actionable information for non-technical audiences.
- Present operational metrics, project updates, and strategic recommendations to IS leadership, executive sponsors, and Community Connect affiliate boards as needed.
- Proactively communicate planned maintenance, outages, and upgrades to all affected stakeholders with appropriate lead time.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with affiliated organizations to facilitate adoption, satisfaction, and program growth.
One of the following is required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; or
- Clinical credential, such as Registered Nurse (RN), or another equivalent licensed healthcare profession.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in Epic workflows and integrated healthcare information technology platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with Epic EHR in a community connect environment strongly preferred.
- Experience managing multi-site or affiliate IS service delivery in a health system environment, preferred.
- Deep functional knowledge of Epic EHR, Epic workflows, environment structure, and upgrade/release management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with clinical, administrative, and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams across distributed locations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA, JACHO, CMS Quality and Payment Programs, and familiarity with relevant compliance frameworks.
This position is primarily office-based with the ability to work remotely as approved by the IS Directors discretion. Travel to various sites is required, estimated at 15–25% depending on program needs and go-live activity. The role may require extended hours during system upgrades, go-lives, or critical incidents. The work environment is professional and collaborative, functioning within a healthcare setting subject to applicable compliance requirements.
