Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to build a new manufacturing facility in Greenville County, South Carolina.

This 1-million-square-foot, state-of-the-art production plant, located on more than 200 acres, will feature a flexible manufacturing line capable of producing both internal combustion and electric vehicles.

The Assistant Manager, Inspection is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Inspection Section, including in-line and final vehicle inspection, inspection personnel, quality performance, and prevention of recurring defects. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this position ensures inspection activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Isuzu inspection standards, production requirements, and quality expectations.

The Assistant Manager develops inspection capability, monitors performance, resolves quality and operational issues, and coordinates with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other functions to maintain stable production and ensure completed vehicles meet established requirements.

• Lead daily in-line and final vehicle inspection operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and production objectives
• Direct and develop Inspection Supervisors, Team Leaders, and assigned inspection personnel
• Plan staffing, assign priorities, monitor inspection workflow, and address issues affecting production schedules
• Ensure completed vehicles meet established inspection standards, assembly requirements, and quality criteria
• Identify, contain, and coordinate resolution of vehicle quality and non-conformance issues
• Lead corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurring defects, rework, and inspection concerns
• Monitor inspection performance, KPIs, quality trends, and audit results and implement improvement actions
• Ensure inspection records, traceability documentation, and audit requirements are accurately maintained
• Ensure inspection equipment, tooling, and processes support accurate and consistent vehicle inspection
• Develop employee capability through training, coaching, performance management, and standardized work
• Maintain compliance with safety, 5S, company policies, ISO requirements, and established inspection procedures
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve issues and support production
• Support engineering changes, inspection process improvements, and new or revised inspection requirements
• Communicate inspection performance, significant quality concerns, staffing needs, and operational risks to the Plant Manager
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or technical education preferred
• Minimum 7 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, vehicle inspection, quality, or related operations preferred
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience
• Experience leading vehicle inspection, quality, or production-related operations
• Experience managing personnel, production priorities, quality issues, and continuous improvement activities
• Experience with vehicle inspection processes, production operations, and corrective actions
• Automotive or commercial vehicle manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing and vehicle inspection processes
• Strong understanding of vehicle structure, components, assembly processes, and inspection requirements
• Knowledge of quality management systems and working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
• Ability to analyze inspection results, identify quality trends, and lead corrective actions
• Strong leadership, coaching, employee-development, and performance-management skills
• Ability to plan staffing, manage workflow, and respond to changing production requirements
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to read assembly and quality documents, drawings, inspection standards, and technical specifications
• Ability to develop and maintain work procedures and training documentation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Commitment to safety, quality, 5S, and continuous improvement
