HVAC Mechanic in Lynchburg, Virginia at Westminster-Canterbury of Lynchburg Inc

Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to join our team! Full-time position available with complete benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, 403B with company match, and more. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30AM to 4:00PM and may require some on-call weekend as needed.

The HVAC Mechanic is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing HVAC, refrigeration, and related mechanical equipment throughout the organization. This position performs preventive maintenance, monitors equipment operation and environmental conditions, maintains required refrigerant-related documentation and permits.

• Monitors, maintains, and services HVAC and related equipment.
• Monitors and maintains conditions of all HVAC equipment.
• Works closely with contractors when servicing contract on major HVAC equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Checks and controls refrigerant levels in AC equipment at the cottages.
• Replaces air filters in all fan equipment.
• Monitors bearings and belts in all fan equipment.
• Aids in maintaining inventory of related supplies.
• Maintains environmental permit for servicing refrigerants.

• High school diploma or equivalent degree
• Virginia Journeyman Tradesman License – HVAC required
• Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, and related mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC and related systems and identify appropriate corrective actions.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, operating instructions, maintenance schedules, and basic technical documentation.
