HVAC Install Apprentice

Learn to build it from the ground up.

Every new system has to be installed by someone who knows what they're doing, and that could be you. Ostrom is looking for an Install Apprentice who wants to learn residential HVAC installation hands-on, get paid from day one, and grow into a Lead Installer. No experience needed. Apprentices are enrolled in Ostrom University, our in-house training program built to fast-track you to Lead Installer.

What You'll Do

• Work alongside lead installers on full system changeouts and new installs
• Help remove and haul away old equipment
• Learn to set furnaces, air handlers, condensers, and heat pumps
• Help run line sets, ductwork, drains, and electrical connections
• Learn start-up procedures and how a quality install is done right the first time
• Load, unload, and stage equipment and materials at the shop and on the job site
• Protect every customer's home with drop cloths and shoe covers, and leave it spotless
• Follow all safety policies, OSHA standards, and EPA guidelines

What You Bring

• A strong work ethic and the drive to become a Lead Installer
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand and power tools
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in attics, crawl spaces, and extreme heat and cold
• Prior construction or hands-on experience is a plus, but not required
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
