CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in E&I maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement. We are currently seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our team in Fort St. John, BC.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Purchasing Agent plays a key role in supporting our operations by sourcing, procuring, and coordinating materials for maintenance and construction projects. This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who enjoys building supplier relationships, finding cost-effective solutions, and supporting project success.

Responsibilities:

• Process orders from start to finish, following procedures and ensuring proper communication.
• Confirm delivery details, enter parts into the system, and keep data error-free.
• Conduct product research for pricing, availability, and sourcing. Track and communicate all backorders efficiently.
• Pick orders, assist in receiving to gain knowledge, and off-load freight as needed. Arrange loading and transport of materials.
• Pursue cost savings opportunities and follow inventory control procedures.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and field staff. Assist the shipping and receiving department.
• Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental practices. Attend Safety Meetings regularly.

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Must be an effective listener with effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must be organized and have the ability to manage a variety of time sensitive tasks at one time.
• Must have experience with Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Participation in On Call Schedule.
