Definition:Under direction, assists in the planning and the establishment of collection routes and aids in the assignment of personnel and equipment in order to provide the community with efficient services. Conversely, all duties performed on the job may not be listed.Responsibilities:Responsible for assisting in the coordination of the activities of workers on a day to day basis. May aid in conducting field inspections to evaluate efficiency of the Sanitation/Recycling program. May be responsible for time-keeping and employee attendance.Experience:Five (5) years of experience in work involving Sanitation and Recycling.NOTE: The responsibility for ensuring that employees possess the required motor vehicle license, commensurate with the class and type of vehicles they operate, rests with the Appointing Authority.Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.Knowledge and Abilities:Must understand the technologies required in the division of Sanitation/RecyclingAbility to prepare reports as requested by superiors Ability to use sound and reasonable judgment to perform simple mathematical calculations and draw valid conclusions Ability to deal directly with the public and give accurate informationAbility to aid in the maintenance of records and fileAbility to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
