Preconstruction Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona at McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting project teams and leadership through providing actionable insights and analysis of project health. Provides solutions to process analysis, risk management, and strategy using existing tools as well as building custom solutions with scalability and impact across the enterprise. Responsible for designing and implementing the process needed to achieve the desired outcome.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor construction KPIs and identify risks and opportunities in assigned scopes and projects.
• Coordinate with department leaders to align on improvements and business objectives.
• Develop standardized tools, procedures, and performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
• Evaluate technology and automation opportunities to streamline repetitive tasks
• Design and implement process improvements that reduce costs, delays, and operational risks.
• Identify productivity risk factors within construction processes and support the correction planning.
• Evaluate root causes of varying productivity metrics
• Correlate KPIs from various disciplines
• Support change management of new processes, technologies, and tools used across project teams
• Collaborate directly with project teams to set goals, solve problems, and confirm results

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
• Internship in data science, analytics, or construction preferred but not required
• General knowledge of construction operations
• Experience holding meetings and public speaking preferred
• Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment
