This role leads quality assurance and operational excellence initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
You will own quality systems, continuous improvement programs, and corrective action processes that directly influence operational performance.
The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on problem solving, using data and quality methodologies to address complex challenges.
You will collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Success will be measured through improvements in quality costs, customer satisfaction, audit performance, and process efficiency.

This is a full-time, first-shift position with an on-site presence and limited flexibility to work from home on an ad hoc basis.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive quality assurance and control systems aligned with organizational and business objectives.
  • Investigate complex quality issues, identify root causes, recommend solutions, and drive sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, and other quality tools to improve manufacturing processes and operational performance.
  • Manage internal quality, manufacturing process, and ERP-related audits while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor customer complaint trends, resolve product quality concerns, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Serve as a key liaison with customers, suppliers, and third-party inspection organizations on quality-related matters.
  • Support supplier quality management, evaluate program performance, and participate in supplier and vendor selection activities.
  • Coordinate regulatory audits and certification activities while maintaining ISO 9001 compliance and managing non-conformance and returned-goods processes.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, KPI updates, audit findings, quality cases, and financial impacts to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and monitor quality performance indicators, including cost of poor quality, complaint resolution, audit results, corrective-action closure, scrap, warranty, and return costs.
  • Oversee the site quality assurance budget and communicate the financial impact of quality initiatives and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead management review activities and employee engagement initiatives designed to strengthen quality ownership throughout the organization.
  • Manage day-to-day team activities, assign actions, monitor execution, provide feedback, and coach employees toward stronger skills and performance.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, problem solving, continuous improvement, and adherence to quality policies and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree in Business Administration is preferred.
  • 15+ years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment, including at least 7 years in management or leadership roles.
  • Certified Quality Manager/Organizational Excellence (CQM/OE) certification and Six Sigma Black Belt credentials.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, quality management systems, audit practices, and manufacturing quality processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in root-cause analysis, corrective action, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, and sustainable continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project, along with statistical analysis platforms such as Minitab or SigmaZone.
  • Proven ability to use quality data and KPIs to identify trends, prioritize opportunities, and drive measurable operational improvements.
  • Strong leadership and people-management capabilities, with experience coaching, mentoring, evaluating performance, and developing team capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, customers, suppliers, and leadership.
  • Ability to investigate complex problems, translate findings into practical solutions, and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to other facilities, conferences, customer or representative sites, and other business locations as needed.
  • Ability to work primarily in an office environment while occasionally entering manufacturing areas where industrial equipment, noise, and required safety gear may be present.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, strong relationships, and contributing to broader organizational objectives.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Regular full-time employment on a first-shift schedule.
  • Hybrid work status, with the role primarily based on-site and potential ad hoc work-from-home flexibility.
  • Tuition reimbursement and career development opportunities.
  • On-site training programs and access to learning resources.
  • Profit-sharing opportunities.
  • Programs and resources supporting employee family, health, and well-being.
  • A collaborative workplace focused on innovation, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
  • An inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and encourages employees to reach their full potential.
