Assistant Team Lead – Full-Time

Position Overview

Location: Cedar City, Utah

Havenwood Academy in Cedar City, Utah is seeking resilient, high-ownership individuals who want to do meaningful and challenging work with adolescents who have experienced significant trauma.

As an Assistant Team Lead you will work with a team of staff to support a group of 8–12 students, ensuring their safety, stability, and growth. This role requires steady leadership, emotional composure, and a commitment to helping young people develop healthier patterns.

This role is active, relational, and demanding—and deeply rewarding for the right person.

Open Shifts:
This is a full-time, 32–40 hours per week position on swing shift (afternoons/evenings and weekends).
Every other Wednesday 3:15p-11:15p
Thursday 3:15p-11:15p
Friday 3:15p-11:15p
Sunday 8:30a-11p

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Rate: $21.00 per hour

A Day in the Life

Filling in as TL when TL is not present. Running a team of 4-7 staff.
Ensuring all groups are ran in accordance with the schedule.
Coordinating and handling crisis response situations within the home.
Completing EL1 checklist and elite skills within 30 days of hire.
Assisting in training and development of new hires
Ensuring homes is tour ready at all times, above 90 percent on cleanliness scores
100% of notes and incident reports completed on time
100% Attendance and/or proper protocols followed when seeking shift coverage.

The Reality of This Role

Working with adolescents who have experienced trauma can be emotionally demanding and unpredictable.

You will encounter moments that require patience, emotional regulation, and teamwork.

This may include:

• Supporting students through emotional outbursts
• Redirecting unsafe behavior
• Managing peer conflict
• Staying calm when situations escalate
• Receiving coaching and feedback to strengthen your skills

This work is not easy, but it matters deeply.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum age of 21
• Ability to pass a background check and TB test
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record

Experience in environments characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity is preferred but not required.
