Senior Contract Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Contract Manager based in United States.

This role is responsible for the day-to-day preparation, negotiation, and management of project agreements and client-related contracts.
You will manage a broad portfolio of agreements supporting pharmaceutical and clinical research activities.
The position combines contract drafting, commercial negotiation, risk assessment, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
You will work closely with Finance, Operations, Business Development, legal stakeholders, sponsors, and subcontractors.
The role also involves analyzing contractual and business risks while ensuring agreements are commercially sound and compliant.
Success requires strong organization, attention to detail, independent judgment, and the ability to manage high volumes without compromising quality.
This is a full-time, remote opportunity suited to an experienced contracts professional comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Prepare and manage a broad range of project agreements, including Master Service Agreements, Letters of Intent, Statements of Work, Project Specific Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, Subcontractor Agreements, Clinical Trial Agreements, Preferred Provider Agreements, and other client-related contracts.
  • Review Data Protection Agreements and other privacy-related contractual documents.
  • Independently review and negotiate project agreement terms and conditions while balancing commercial requirements and business risk.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for coordinating legal reviews and facilitating contract execution.
  • Track contract review activity and provide regular status reporting and weekly updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, Business Development, and other internal stakeholders on agreement execution, contractual details, and commercial requirements.
  • Coordinate Subcontractor Agreements and ensure their terms and conditions remain aligned with applicable Sponsor Agreements.
  • Develop and negotiate Change Orders to existing Project Agreements.
  • Perform cash flow analysis and develop payment schedules in coordination with Finance and established contract management guidelines.
  • Participate in and lead meetings with sponsors, subcontractors, Finance, Operations, Business Development, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop knowledge of relevant biopharmaceutical market segments and assess business risks associated with contractual terms, providing guidance to management.
  • Manage a high volume of Project Agreements efficiently, ensuring timely completion, professionalism, accuracy, and consistent quality.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with an emphasis in business, life sciences, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of contract drafting and negotiation experience.
  • 5+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical or Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and contractual judgment skills.
  • Prior familiarity with contracts, fee generation, payment schedules, client interactions, and commercial negotiations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact confidently with both internal and external parties.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, agreements, and market segments simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to handle high volumes of work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Flexibility and adaptability when addressing the needs of different lines of service and business stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple functions.
