Job Description
Purpose of the Position
The Supervisory Registered Nurse (RN) oversees and supports the work of caregivers to ensure
patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate care. This role combines direct nursing
expertise with leadership responsibilities, helping to maintain high standards of care and
compliance.
What the Supervisory RN Does
• Supervises Clinical Staff – Guides, supports, and evaluates nurses and caregivers in
their daily work.
• Conducts Home Visits – Performs supervisory visits to ensure patient care meets the
care plan, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Supports Quality Care – Reviews documentation and patient charts for accuracy and
completeness.
• Provides Training – Offers coaching, mentoring, and skill development for nursing and
caregiving staff.
• Coordinates with Leadership – Works with the Director of Clinical Services to address
patient needs, staffing issues, and care improvements.
• Ensures Compliance – Follows the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid regulations,
West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications
• Education: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in home health, with
some supervisory or leadership experience.
• Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, leadership, communication, organization, and
problem-solving skills.
