Job Description

Enterprise Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Enterprise Architect based in Canada.

This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for shaping the long-term technology architecture of a fast-growing, high-performance organization.
You will connect enterprise architecture strategy with practical business outcomes, helping teams make clear and informed technology decisions.
The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution across applications, integrations, ERP ecosystems, and enterprise capabilities.
You will influence major technology decisions across business and technical functions without relying on formal authority.
A key focus will be building scalable, modular, and API-first architecture patterns while reducing complexity and long-term technology risk.
You will work closely with architecture, data, integration, ERP, and business teams across functions such as supply chain, finance, and commercial operations.
The position is fully remote and offers the opportunity to shape architecture practices within a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment.

Accountabilities
  • Lead end-to-end build-versus-buy assessments, including structured analysis, recommendations, decision-making, and follow-through.

  • Own and continuously improve the enterprise application portfolio, including capability mapping, cost modeling, application rationalization, and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.

  • Develop and advance composable, API-first architecture patterns designed to improve modularity and reduce future re-platforming risks.

  • Engage early in strategic initiatives to evaluate solution options, challenge assumptions, identify architectural implications, and ensure new capabilities align with the broader technology landscape.

  • Partner closely with data architecture teams to provide an enterprise-level perspective on data lineage, dependencies, and technology sprawl.

  • Contribute enterprise architecture expertise to integration architecture and iPaaS strategy discussions, including environments involving MuleSoft, SAP CPI, Boomi, or comparable technologies.

  • Collaborate with SAP S/4HANA and SaaS solution architects to ensure domain-level decisions align with enterprise standards, capabilities, and long-term roadmaps.

  • Translate effectively between technical and business stakeholders across areas such as supply chain, finance, and commercial operations.

  • Introduce practical architecture frameworks, terminology, and decision-making approaches to increase architecture maturity across the organization.

  • Promote MVP-first architecture principles by distinguishing immediate requirements from longer-term capabilities and ensuring today's decisions support future scalability.

  • Identify opportunities to use AI-augmented approaches to accelerate architecture analysis, documentation, pattern development, and other traditionally time-intensive activities.

  • Operate as an outcomes-oriented architecture leader who can move from ideation and analysis through to implementation and measurable results.

Requirements
  • 8+ years of enterprise architecture or solution architecture experience, with demonstrated ownership of technology decisions from analysis through execution.

  • Strong experience with ERP ecosystems, particularly SAP S/4HANA, including an understanding of architectural dependencies, integration points, and scalability considerations.

  • Practical integration architecture experience with technologies such as MuleSoft, SAP CPI, Boomi, or equivalent platforms.

  • Demonstrated experience with application rationalization using concrete data, including cost models, capability assessments, portfolio analysis, and application retirement recommendations.

  • Strong knowledge of business process management and process architecture, with the ability to determine whether technology is the appropriate solution to an underlying process problem.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent approaches, with the ability to apply them pragmatically.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align technical and business stakeholders without relying on formal authority.

  • Experience working in a high-growth, fast-moving operating environment rather than exclusively in external consulting engagements.

  • Practical experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or comparable solutions to accelerate architecture activities, including fit-gap analysis, documentation, research, and architecture pattern generation.

  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution and the ability to turn architectural concepts into actionable outcomes.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Experience in consumer, retail, or similarly fast-cycle industries is preferred.

  • Exposure to composable architecture and MACH principles is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Coupa or comparable indirect procurement platforms is an advantage.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment and collaborate across distributed teams and functions.

Benefits
  • Long-term full-time contract at 40 hours per week.

  • 100% remote position, with candidates able to work from Canada or eligible locations across LATAM.

  • Monday to Friday work schedule, 8 hours per day.

  • Standard working hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific Time.

  • Opportunity to work on enterprise-scale architecture challenges within a high-growth, fast-moving environment.

  • Significant cross-functional exposure and the opportunity to influence technology strategy across multiple business functions.

  • Senior individual contributor position with substantial ownership and influence without formal people-management responsibilities.

  • Opportunity to shape enterprise architecture practices, standards, and technology roadmaps.

  • Exposure to modern technologies and approaches spanning SAP S/4HANA, integration platforms, SaaS, composable architecture, APIs, and AI-augmented workflows.
