The Production Operations Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising manufacturing activities related to machining, assembly, painting, stockroom and small valve production. The incumbent ensures the achievement of safety, quality, productivity and delivery objectives by mobilizing the production teams in a unionized environment with a high level of operational requirements. He acts as a field leader and strategic partner with the various departments to optimize the manufacturing flow and support the continuous improvement of operations. The position requires an active presence on the production floor, a strong mobilization capacity as well as a results-oriented approach, collaboration and operational excellence.

Operations Management
- Supervise all production activities of the evening shift in the areas of machining, assembly, painting, stockroom and small valves;
- Plan, coordinate and distribute daily activities according to established production priorities and schedules;
- Ensure compliance with production, quality, cost and delivery objectives;
- Ensure the optimization of human, material and technical resources to ensure operational efficiency;
- Actively participate in improving the manufacturing flow and solving operational issues.
Health and Safety
- Promote a strong culture of occupational health and safety;
- Ensure compliance with OHS policies, procedures and standards;
- Participate in accident investigations, risk analyses, inspections and prevention initiatives;
- Implement the necessary corrective actions to eliminate risk situations.
Leadership and team management
- Mobilize, supervise and develop the employees under his/her responsibility;
- Clearly communicate expectations, objectives and priorities;
- Perform performance management, coaching and skills development;
- Foster a positive, respectful and collaborative work environment;
- Ensure fair and proactive management of labour relations in a unionized environment.
Quality and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and operational procedures;
- Participate in the analysis of problems and the implementation of sustainable solutions;
- Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities;
- Maintain and improve work standards, operational sequences and performance indicators.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with the planning, quality, methods, engineering, maintenance, procurement and manufacturing technology teams;
- Participate in daily production meetings and various operational committees;
- Ensure effective communication between day and evening teams to maintain continuity of operations.
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in a technical field or any equivalent combination of training and relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience supervising unionized personnel in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in machining, mechanical assembly or industrial manufacturing
- Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment (strong asset)
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations and industrial processes
- Good understanding of Lean and continuous improvement principles
- Knowledge of ERP systems (Infor LN or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Knowledge of CNC machining, assembly and industrial painting processes (asset)
- Bilingualism in French and English, both oral and written
- Mobilizing leadership and presence in the field
- Excellent organizational and priority management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make decisions quickly and efficiently
