Job Description

Description:

Overview of position:

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Manager of Purchasing & Accounts is an important operational and problem-solving role responsible for auditing and optimising procurement strategies across both Denver Language School (DLS) campuses. The primary objective is to ensure ‘value-for-money’ within a K-8 public education environment by evaluating the efficacy and fiscal impact of vendor contracts, with a specialized focus on Educational Technology service agreements. Beyond procurement, this individual ensures the financial sustainability of DLS auxiliary programs by managing student accounts and parent payments via MySchoolBucks. This role requires a data-driven mindset, an advanced comfort level with spreadsheets, and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets to identify opportunities for efficiency, program expansion, or the phasing out of underperforming services. (c. 50% of the role)

Secondarily, the Manager of Purchasing & Accounts is expected to develop a strong working understanding of Denver Language School’s revenue model with specific focus on the registration and enrollment students for which the school receives taxpayers funded resources. De facto, this will involve partnering with the Registrar at the discretion and direction of the Director of External Relations. (c. 30% of the role)

Additionally, the Manager will collaborate closely with the After-School Activities teams at both campuses, inclusive of the Athletic Directors, to maintain precise records of participation and billing. This position provides functional supervision and indirect management to the After-School Activity Lead at the Whiteman campus to ensure cross-campus alignment in auxiliary service delivery and financial record-keeping. (c. 20% of the role).

Initially, this is a funded role for two school years with the potential for continuation. The role will require frequent and regular interaction with all members of the senior leadership team and the ability to navigate complicated reporting structures within a language immersion K-8 school operating across two buildings.

The anticipated start date for this position is 07/20/2026.

The selected candidate will report, initially, to the Executive Director for a limited two year period SY26-27 and SY27-28. .
