ABOUT THE ROLE

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for delivering value and leading innovation for the firm through a broad set of sourcing and procurement activities. This position is responsible for collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand needs and strategic objectives for the various departments to develop a strategic roadmap for sourcing opportunities to drive value and mitigate risks. The Strategic Sourcing Manager works cross-functionally with the various departments and offices throughout the firm to evaluate requirements of goods and services, manage implementation of new supplier programs, communicate contract terms and facilitate hand-off of contract management to the business unit to establish new supplier relationships in an efficient manner.

Sourcing & Procurement

  • Apply best practices in strategic sourcing, procurement and business negotiations, ensuring alignment with Firm strategic objectives.
  • Perform spend analysis and develop a sourcing roadmap focused on cost savings, supplier management and process improvement.
  • Working closely with stakeholders, develop requirements and project scopes and implement best in class sourcing activities to procure high-quality products and services from suppliers that adhere to the firms standards. Understand our business, supply base and firm objectives to bring value and drive business results through innovation.
  • Analyze the market, screen potential suppliers, and facilitate formal Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and development business cases and recommendations for vendor selection to ensure appropriate and cost-effective vendor relationships are established for the Firm.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities and negotiate contracts to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership across the Firms spend.
  • Deliver cost savings to the Firm.
  • Develop and implement supplier relationship management (SRM) practices including, but not limited to, vendor evaluations and quarterly business reviews.
  • Build strong, productive relationships with key business stakeholders and relevant internal teams, including but not limited to Contracts, InfoSec, IT, Finance and Privacy. Use expertise and relationships to influence key stakeholders.

Category Management

  • Lead strategic thinking and supplier management in key areas of Firm spend. Accountable for leading the development and execution of multi-year category strategies.
  • Build and communicate category intelligence throughout the company.

Client Service, Confidentiality, Compliance and Safety

  • Consistently promote and model the Firms Client Service Principles in leadership, teamwork, work product, and personal interaction.
  • Ensure compliance with the Firms Information Handling Policy, including safeguarding confidential and personal information, and reporting any suspected breach appropriately and immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with the Firms risk management policy relating to gifts from clients and vendors.
  • Adhere to the Firms General Safety Practices and any unique safety practices for department and building.

ABOUT YOU

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or a related field preferred. MBA a plus. Five - Seven years of experience in indirect sourcing and procurement .
  • Experience in sourcing and category management for software, professional services, outsourcing, and other indirect categories.
  • Vendor negotiation experience.
  • Experience in change management and implementing new programs and processes.
  • Understanding of law firm operations a plus.

  • Advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive, detailed data.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively in a matrixed organization with the ability to develop stakeholder relationships at senior levels
  • Talent for delivering client service through teamwork.
  • Ability to quickly assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective recommendations and/or decisions, including ability to draw clear conclusions from a diverse set of data
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • High client service ethic and a proven record in delivering exemplary client satisfaction to external and internal clients.
  • Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for leveraging AI and emerging technologies to enhance sourcing strategy, improve decision-making, and drive operational efficiency and innovation.

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications. Per Colorado law, this posting includes an anticipated application deadline of September 2026. The position may close earlier if a suitable candidate is identified.

Los Angeles salary range: $133k to $180k

Denver salary range: $125k to $170k
