Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upholstery Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for upholstering and assembling pads, cushions, and upholstered components used in commercial fitness equipment. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, works efficiently in a production environment, and is committed to producing high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Cut, sew, stretch, and upholster vinyl, foam, and other materials used in fitness equipment pads and components
- Assemble upholstered components according to specifications and production schedules
- Operate industrial sewing machines, staplers, cutting tools, and related upholstery equipment
- Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and durability
- Read work orders, production drawings, and measurements accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines
- Assist with process improvements and continuous quality initiatives
- Work collaboratively with production, assembly, and quality teams
Qualifications
- Previous upholstery experience preferred, especially in commercial, automotive, marine, furniture, or fitness equipment manufacturing
- Experience using industrial sewing equipment and upholstery tools
- Ability to measure accurately and follow production specifications
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
- Familiarity with vinyl, foam, and industrial fabrics
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly
- Manual dexterity and hand strength required for cutting, stretching, sewing, and fastening materials
- Ability to safely operate industrial sewing machines and hand tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Visual ability to inspect materials and finished products for quality and accuracy
