Powder Coating Systems is currently seeking to hire an experienced Powder Coater for our day shift.

Experienced for us is defined as having more than six months actively powder coating in a powder coating facility. This must be shown on the resume.

Starting wage for this position is $22-24 per hour depending on experience.

This is a full-time position. Day shift operates from Monday through Friday from 5AM to 1:30PM.

Powder Coating Systems currently offers Paid Time Off (PTO) that starts accruing on the first day of work and can be used after the ninety day probationary period.

We also offer after the first ninety days:

-Dental and Insurance Benefits through Colonial Life. (Note: At the present time, this does not include medical.)

-Six paid holidays a year.

-A Sales Based Production Bonus that can be earned monthly, but pays out quarterly.

Our Powder Coaters are responsible for processing parts brought in by our customers by spraying them in the required color to a standard thickness. They wear needed PPE while performing this task. They are also responsible for setting the oven timers and temperatures for each rack to ensure parts get cured when the powder melts properly. They also need to be able to communicate to the floor their needs to ensure parts are hung a certain way and that masking and cleaning are done properly. Coaters are expected to help out on the floor between racks to assist in setting up when necessary.

Although knowledge of operating a sit-down forklift isn't required for this position, it is helpful. Also a mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of hand tools, air tools and other shop skills would be extremely helpful.

The best candidates for this position, besides the required experienced mentioned above, are punctual, productive, able to communicate and team players.

Requirements:

The following are the minimum requirements for this position:

-at least six months of actual powder coating experience in a powder coating shop. (This shop may be attached to another shop as long as the experience includes powder coating for at least six months.)

-possession of the necessary Immigration documentation to prove identity and the right to work in the United States. (By Federal Law, we are not allow to accept copies of this documentation nor are we allowed to require specific documents for this. Applicants can google I-9 documentation to see the list of acceptable documents. This must be done within two days of hire.)

-the ability to lift fifty (50) pounds. (The average weight of a box of powder is fifty pounds. We do use hand trucks to move them from the storage racks to the booth.)

-reliable transportation to commute to Tacoma on a daily basis. (Although there is a Pierce Transit stop uphill from the shop, we require our team members to be on time for their shifts daily.)

-current Driver's License. (This is a requirement to operate our forklifts.)

-the ability to read and communicate in English. (Other languages are a bonus.)

The following are not required, but helpful:

-Mechanical aptitude.

-Experience using a tablet to record information.

-Forklift experience.
