Medical Scheduler Coordinator in Carlsbad, California at The Neurology Center

We are a busy, growing outpatient Neurology practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking an experienced Medical Scheduler who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent customer service skills, and understands the complexities of medical scheduling and insurance verification.

Qualifications:

· HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance plans.

· Medical groups and IPA referral processes.

· Medical Scheduling experience

· Experience using an electronic medical record (Epic experience preferred).

· Excellent communication and phone etiquette.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to multitask in a high-volume medical office.

· Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities:

· Schedule new and follow-up appointments for multiple neurology providers.

· Review referrals and schedule patients according to diagnosis and provider preferences.

· Verify HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance eligibility.

· Understand medical groups, IPA requirements, referrals, and authorizations.

· Identify when authorizations are required and ensure all required documentation has been received prior to scheduling.

· Communicate professionally with patients, referring providers, insurance companies, and internal staff.

· Maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance information in the electronic medical record (EMR).

· Answer a high volume of inbound and outbound calls while providing exceptional customer service.

· Reschedule appointments, manage waitlists, and fill cancellations when appropriate.

· Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
