Job Description

Engineering Team Lead (Digital Twin)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineering Team Lead (Digital Twin) based in Brazil.

This is a high-impact technical leadership role at the intersection of real-time data, AI systems, and industrial-scale digital twin platforms. You will lead a multidisciplinary squad responsible for building end-to-end systems that connect streaming sensor data, knowledge graphs, and advanced AI-driven decision layers. The environment is highly complex, combining backend systems, data pipelines, frontend visualization layers, and hybrid cloud/edge infrastructure. You will act as the technical backbone of the team, ensuring architectural cohesion across all components. The role requires strong systems thinking, hands-on technical depth, and the ability to guide senior engineers through complex distributed challenges. Beyond execution, you will shape engineering standards, drive design decisions, and ensure the platform delivers reliability in critical industrial contexts.

Accountabilities:

Lead the technical direction and architectural cohesion of a distributed digital twin platform, ensuring seamless integration between backend systems, data pipelines, frontend applications, and infrastructure layers. You will also serve as the primary technical reference for the team:

  • Drive end-to-end architecture decisions across backend, data, frontend, and DevOps domains
  • Ensure real-time data ingestion, processing, and visualization pipelines are scalable, reliable, and well-integrated
  • Oversee backend systems handling high-volume sensor streams and AI-driven processing workflows
  • Guide data engineering practices, ensuring robust Medallion Architecture and high-quality data flows
  • Enforce engineering standards across APIs, frontend component design, and data pipeline quality gates
  • Act as technical authority for complex problem-solving in distributed systems and hybrid cloud environments
  • Mentor senior engineers and lead code reviews to ensure consistency, performance, and reliability
  • Translate product requirements into structured technical delivery plans and execution tasks
  • Ensure cross-team alignment between backend, frontend, data, and infrastructure squads
Requirements:

Strong experience in distributed systems, platform engineering, and technical leadership is essential, particularly in data-intensive and real-time environments. The role demands both deep technical expertise and strong architectural vision:

  • Solid experience in software engineering with strong background in backend or full-stack development
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and real-time data processing
  • Experience working with data pipelines, data lake architectures, or large-scale data platforms
  • Familiarity with modern backend frameworks (e.g., Python, FastAPI, or equivalent)
  • Experience with frontend architectures and complex visualization systems (React, Angular, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of cloud and infrastructure technologies (Kubernetes, Terraform, hybrid/cloud/edge environments)
  • Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs across backend, data, frontend, and DevOps layers
  • Proven leadership experience mentoring engineers and guiding technical decisions
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, with ability to operate in complex, mission-critical environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to bridge technical and business discussions
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary aligned with senior engineering leadership roles
  • Fully remote work arrangement
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge digital twin and AI-driven industrial platforms
  • Exposure to large-scale, mission-critical engineering systems
  • Health and wellness benefits (varies by local policy)
  • Career growth in a highly technical, global engineering environment
  • Continuous learning and development opportunities
  • Collaborative and highly skilled engineering team environment.
