Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse provides care to patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures. The RN prepares patients and the operating room, serves as a circulating nurse or scrub nurse according to their training and the facility’s needs, and collaborates with the surgical team to support safe, efficient care.

Responsibilities
Assess patients before surgery and verify procedure readiness, required documentation, and safety checks.
Prepare the operating room, equipment, instruments, and supplies for cardiovascular procedures.
Serve as a circulating nurse and perform scrub duties when qualified and assigned.
Maintain sterile technique and monitor for breaks in the sterile field.
Assist with patient positioning, surgical counts, specimen handling, and intraoperative documentation.
Anticipate the needs of surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other team members.
Recognize and promptly respond to changes in patient condition or surgical emergencies.
Provide clear handoffs to recovery or intensive care teams.
Follow all patient safety and infection prevention standards.

Qualifications
Active, unencumbered Illinois RN license.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
ACLS certification if required by the facility.
Minimum of one year of recent CVOR RN experience.
Experience with cardiac and vascular procedures, including open-heart surgery.
Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical safety practices, and circulating responsibilities.
Ability to scrub preferred; required for some assignments.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and time management skills.
Level I hospital experience preferred; required for some units.
CERNER experience preferred.

5X 8hr Shifts Days, 06:15-1445,
Every other weekend
Every other holiday
Call requirements, if applicable, will be confirmed for the assignment.
Start date: Approximately 2–3 weeks from offer
