Activities Counselor in Glenville, New York at Conifer Park Inc

Conifer Park is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Activities Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will support individuals in recovery by facilitating recreational activities, promoting wellness, and creating a safe and positive environment for patient engagement. You will supervise recreational spaces, monitor patient participation, document observations, and provide guidance on healthy lifestyle choices, relaxation techniques, and recovery-focused wellness practices.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong communication and observational skills, and is committed to helping patients achieve personal growth and recovery. Schedule: Sunday- Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm

· Preferred 4 year/ Bachelor's Degree or certification in a Therapeutic Recreation.

· Minimum of 1-year experience working in recreation therapy, substance use treatment, physical education or a human service related field.

· Ability to maintain professional boundaries and communicate effectively

· Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR certification required (or willing to obtain)

· Must pass background check, pre-employment screening, and drug screening
