Job Description

Independent High-End Print Broker / Sales Representative

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Independent High-End Print Broker / Sales Representative based in Canada.

This is an independent, fully remote sales opportunity for an experienced print professional with the technical knowledge and commercial instincts to secure premium printing projects. You will identify and develop new business opportunities for a high-capacity manufacturing facility specializing in high-end, high-volume print production. Your focus will be on bringing in commercial contracts that make use of available production capacity outside the traditional yearbook season. You will target projects where exceptional print quality, advanced finishing, and competitive manufacturing costs create a strong market advantage. Working autonomously, you will manage prospecting and initial client requirements while collaborating with an internal estimating team to develop proposals. With a clear annual target of at least $100,000 in booked business, this non-exclusive contractor engagement offers flexibility and performance-based earning potential.

Accountabilities

You will independently generate and develop commercial print opportunities, ensuring that each project aligns with the facility's production capabilities and quality standards.

  • Identify and generate leads for high-end commercial printing projects through direct outreach, networking, and existing professional relationships.

  • Develop relationships with prospective clients seeking premium print manufacturing services.

  • Assess client requirements, including design specifications, production expectations, materials, and finishing needs.

  • Gather and document technical project specifications and submit them to the internal estimating team for pricing and evaluation.

  • Identify projects that match the facility's specialized production capabilities, including:

    • Premium coffee table books: High-quality publications for art, photography, fashion, luxury real estate, and corporate history, requiring precise color management and substantial ink coverage.

    • Premium case-bound hardcover books: Projects involving durable construction, custom cloth or faux-leather covers, foil stamping, and debossing.

    • Perfect-bound softcover books: High-volume production requiring crisp finishes and reliable manufacturing quality.

  • Coordinate with the internal estimating team to support project evaluation and commercial proposals.

  • Secure and deliver at least $100,000 in gross booked print business annually.

  • Operate independently while maintaining productive communication with internal manufacturing and estimating stakeholders.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has hands-on knowledge of print manufacturing and a proven ability to identify and secure commercial printing projects. This role requires someone who can confidently discuss technical production requirements with clients and work independently toward measurable revenue targets.

  • Essential print manufacturing expertise: Strong technical understanding of paper weights, finishes, ink types, prepress processes, color management, and binding methods. Candidates without practical print manufacturing knowledge will not be considered.

  • Demonstrated ability to generate leads and secure print projects through direct outreach, prospecting, and professional networking.

  • Understanding of premium commercial printing requirements and the ability to recognize projects suited to specialized production capabilities.

  • Strong client communication skills and the ability to assess design and production specifications accurately.

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable managing a fully remote, independent working arrangement.

  • A hunter mindset, with the initiative to uncover small- and mid-sized high-end print opportunities rather than relying solely on an established large client portfolio.

  • Comfortable working toward a minimum annual target of $100,000 in booked business.

  • Ability to manage multiple professional or manufacturing relationships while avoiding direct conflicts of interest.

  • Previous experience in print brokerage, print sales, commercial printing, or print manufacturing is highly relevant.

Benefits
  • Competitive commission: Earn a percentage of booked revenue, with compensation linked to business generated.

  • Negotiable draw: Potential additional draw based on experience and proposed sales strategy.

  • Fully remote engagement: Work from anywhere in the world, with no location restrictions.

  • Non-exclusive arrangement: Continue working with two or three other non-competing clients, projects, or manufacturing partners.

  • Independent contractor flexibility: No requirement for a full-time employment commitment.

  • Premium product offering: Represent high-end printing capabilities, including advanced binding, premium finishes, and high-quality commercial production.

  • Competitive manufacturing costs: Offer clients premium print solutions supported by attractive production economics.

  • Clear performance expectations: Focus on a defined annual target of at least $100,000 in booked business.
