Position Summary: **Position is operating out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Develops and implements safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions. This position is located in Cedar Rapids, IA and is primarily focused on a Data Center project.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops, recommends and communicates strategy to all audiences in order to meet safety goals and objectives that support safe work practices
- Plans, devises and coordinates implementation of training programs for managers, supervisors, and employees in safety- related areas according to specific needs
- Oversees and directs the investigations of accidents and incidents; takes immediate corrective action where appropriate.
- Reviews all accidents & incidents to ensure all reports are filled correctly and reports to upper management
- Works closely with project managers and division mangers regarding safe worksites
- Works with other senior management to structure safety components of employee incentive and awards programs
- Conducts comprehensive on-site safety assessments
- Monitors all safety processes
- Monitors corrective actions
- Provides projects with information, signs, posters, etc.
- Periodically inspects safety equipment
- Conducts all equipment training
- Keeps company personnel informed of any new or change in local, state, or federal environmental guidelines or laws
Performs other duties as requested and assigned in a timely fashion
Essential skills and experience:
- Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word software.
- Knowledge of office administration procedures.
- Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
- Well developed organizational skills
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to travel and stay overnight as required
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school preferred; or one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
