POSITION SUMMARY:

The Catholic Chaplain is responsible for providing spiritual support, pastoral care, and Catholic ministry services to residents throughout Friendship Village. This role helps foster a compassionate, faith-centered environment by supporting the spiritual and emotional needs of residents, families, and team members across all levels of care.

As a practicing Roman Catholic, the Catholic Chaplain will assist in creating meaningful opportunities for worship, prayer, fellowship, and spiritual connection while supporting the mission, values, and hospitality culture of Friendship Village.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist with the planning, coordination, and set-up of Catholic Mass, Holy Days, Rosary, Stations of the Cross, and other liturgical celebrations.

· Provide pastoral care, spiritual encouragement, and compassionate support to residents throughout Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing.

· Visit and minister to residents, families, and hospitalized residents as appropriate.

· Build meaningful relationships with residents through prayer, fellowship, active listening, and spiritual support.

· Organize and support Catholic faith formation activities, fellowship opportunities, and special religious events.

· Attend and/or assist with Catholic funeral and memorial services as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred in Theology, Religious Studies, Pastoral Care, Spiritual Care, Psychology, Social Work, or related field; equivalent ministry experience considered.

· Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing preferred.

· Previous ministry, chaplaincy, pastoral care, healthcare, or senior living experience preferred.

· Written recommendation from Parish Priest or religious authority preferred.
