TITLE: Bid Specialist
DIVISION: Merchandising
REPORTS TO: Bid Manager
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt/Hourly

POSITION OVERVIEW:
As an integral part of the bid team, the Bid Specialist provides comprehensive support throughout the bid process, from identifying potential opportunities to submitting final proposals. You will collaborate with the Business Solutions Manager and coordinate with buyers on the development of bid strategies that result in sales growth, in line with organizational objectives and customer needs. The Bid Specialist acts as a liaise with merchandising and sales teams to ensure a cohesive approach to bid preparation
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist the Business Solutions Manager to monitor active bids, providing oversight from the initial request to final decision.
• Confirm the completion of all necessary documentation for proposal submission.
• Participate in bid review sessions and contribute to the refinement of bid strategies.
• Keep track of bid performance indicators and conduct thorough post-bid evaluations.
• Engage with internal teams to create collaborative execution and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as a backup to the Business Solutions Manager and manage related tasks as required.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the bid administration process.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple bids concurrently.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate bid opportunities and devise winning strategies. Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
• Work inter-departmentally to create an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Associate or bachelor’s degree.
• 2+ years’ experience in sales and merchandising support.
• Sound knowledge and exhibited acuity of the bid process.
Hourly rate: $30.00-$35.00
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position will be in an office setting, sitting at a desk equipped with computer, monitors, phone, and other applicable resources/equipment. It will be required to routinely sit at a desk and walk short distance through office space, primarily on a level surface for periods of time throughout the day.
