Our MissionAs a faith-based organization, QueensCare provides, directly and in collaboration with others, accessible quality healthcare for low-income individuals and families residing in Los Angeles County.
QueensCare is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization originally founded by the Franciscan Sisters of Sacred Heart, whose mission of compassion and accessible healthcare continues today. QueensCare provides screening, treatment, education, and preventive and direct care to Los Angeles area residents in need. Beyond that, we also give charitable grants to other non-profits making a difference in the City of Angels and fund scholarships for those entering medical fields with an interest in working in underserved communities.
About the role
SUMMARY:
The Director of Administration (DA) provides oversight of the organization’s administrative infrastructure including human resources, information systems (IS), risk management, quality assurance and improvement, facilities and core operational systems across QueensCare and its affiliates. The DA reports to the Chief Innovation & Administration Officer (CIAO) and works collaboratively with executive leadership, clinical and program teams, finance and external partners to ensure that administrative systems, processes and controls are effective, compliant and aligned with organizational strategic priorities. The DA promotes operational efficiency through cross-functional coordination, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation and data integrity. The DA oversees vendors and consultants who support administrative functions for QueensCare and its affiliates, including HRIS and software platforms, IS and EHRs, compliance, insurance and risk management, facilities operations, and other administrative services. The DA focuses on strengthening administrative infrastructure and leading continuous improvement efforts related to systems, processes and organizational policies. that support compliance, mitigate risk and promote high-quality outcomes across the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Oversight and Systems Coordination
- Oversees the effectiveness and alignment of administrative systems, policies, and workflows across HR, IS, risk, quality, and facilities.
- Establishes and monitors operational benchmarks, system performance and operational processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance.
- Supports the evaluation and implementation of systems and process improvements in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Oversees vendor relationships across administrative domains, including technology platforms, compliance services, and insurance providers, ensuring accountability and service quality.
- Ensures coordination across administrative functions to support programmatic and operational needs.
Quality, Risk, and Compliance Oversight
- Oversees the organization’s quality assurance and performance improvement (QA/QI) framework, ensuring systems are in place to monitor quality, safety, and compliance.
- Monitors adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices across operational and clinical support functions.
- Oversees the organization’s insurance portfolio, including annual renewals, coverage evaluations, and coordination with brokers and carriers to ensure appropriate and compliant coverage aligned with organizational risk exposure.
- Ensures systems are in place for incident reporting, tracking, and follow-up, and that corrective actions are documented and addressed.
- Supports audit readiness and compliance reviews by ensuring documentation and processes are current and accessible.
Management Functions
- Participates in collaborative leadership meetings and operationalizes its administrative decisions.
- Participates in strategic planning and contributes to the execution of the plans approved.
- Chairs or serves on the Retirement Plan Committee, Cross-functional Oversight Committee, Quality Assurance/Improvement committee.
- Provides leadership and direction, encourages innovation, and builds teamwork among staff.
Policies and Performance
- Understands, adheres to and enforces QueensCare’s policies and procedures in the performance of work duties and supervision of staff.
- Reviews, develops and recommends policies for approval to the Board of Directors.
- Uses discretion and good judgment in handling sensitive or confidential information.

- Expected to uphold organizational standards of professionalism, accountability, ethics, and integrity, while fostering a respectful and high-performing work environment.
- Responsibilities include providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback, addressing performance or conduct concerns in a timely manner, and utilizing progressive counseling, when appropriate, to support employee accountability and development.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration, required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred. Candidate must exhibit excellent communications skills and demonstrate ability to lead a diverse team to achieve results.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in management, with at least three years in a director level role, ideally with a nonprofit health or human services organization, required.

The pay range for this role is:
118,621 - 154,139 USD per year(US Low)
