This senior legal education and curriculum leadership role is focused on strengthening the quality of legal representation within family court systems through the design and delivery of high-impact training programs. You will lead the development of comprehensive, practice-oriented curricula for attorneys and multidisciplinary practitioners working in family court across New York State. Operating within a mission-driven, justice-focused environment, you will translate complex legal frameworks, professional ethics, and trauma-informed practices into accessible and effective learning tools. The role combines deep subject matter expertise with instructional design, stakeholder collaboration, and program leadership. You will work closely with internal teams, external experts, and individuals with lived experience to ensure training reflects real-world needs and system gaps. This is a highly influential position that directly shapes the quality and consistency of legal advocacy for children and families.
- Design and develop comprehensive legal training curricula for family court attorneys and related practitioners across New York State.
- Create supporting educational materials including slide decks, toolkits, checklists, practice guides, and reference documents.
- Serve as faculty for CLE-accredited trainings and ensure compliance with continuing legal education requirements.
- Identify training gaps and regional practice differences to tailor curricula to jurisdiction-specific needs.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, external partners, and internal teams to design and deliver training programs.
- Support the development of digital learning resources, including LMS content and online practice tools.
- Coordinate with lived experience groups and advisory councils to integrate real-world perspectives into curriculum design.
- Oversee training logistics and contribute to the planning and execution of learning events and initiatives.
- Admission to practice law in New York State (required) and active good standing status.
- Significant experience practicing in New York State Family Court, with strong familiarity across case types.
- Demonstrated experience in legal training, curriculum development, or professional education programs.
- Strong understanding of federal and New York State law, legal ethics, and family court procedures.
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, structured, and practical training materials.
- Proven leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills in multi-disciplinary environments.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering trainings or CLE programs.
- Experience working with diverse partners, including community stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Willingness to travel for trainings, collaboration, and professional events as required.
- Competitive salary range: $110,000 – $145,000 annually, based on experience.
