Job Description

Senior Product Data Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Product Data Engineer in Ireland.

Join a fast-moving, product-focused data team building the intelligence layer behind one of the most innovative creator economy platforms in Europe. In this role, you’ll transform massive volumes of unstructured social media data into scalable, customer-facing insights that power discovery, recommendations, and analytics for global brands. You’ll work end-to-end on high-impact initiatives, collaborating with talented engineers in a highly autonomous, remote-first environment that values ownership, experimentation, and speed. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges at scale while contributing directly to product innovation. You’ll help shape AI-assisted search capabilities, build resilient data systems, and influence how modern brands connect with creators worldwide. If you thrive in low-bureaucracy environments and enjoy building meaningful products from scratch, this role offers exceptional growth and impact.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and scale customer-facing data products that transform raw social media signals into reliable insights and APIs.
  • Build and optimize large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines and distributed data processing systems using technologies such as Spark, Airflow, AWS, and GCP.
  • Develop intelligent systems capable of extracting creator demographics, collaborations, interests, and behavioral insights from unstructured datasets.
  • Contribute to AI-assisted search and recommendation capabilities using LLMs, embeddings, and modern machine learning workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers across Data Insights, Data Search, and Data Core teams to deliver scalable and high-performing solutions.
  • Own projects from architecture and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, code quality, and operational efficiency while balancing performance and infrastructure costs.
  • Participate in technical discussions, pair programming, and iterative product development in a highly collaborative remote-first culture.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or large-scale distributed systems development.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Spark technologies, including PySpark, Scala, or Databricks environments.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines and large-scale data processing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of unstructured data processing, workflow orchestration tools, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Practical experience with AWS services such as EMR, Glue, Lambda, ECS, S3, Athena, or similar technologies.
  • Experience shipping end-to-end product features from planning and architecture through deployment and iteration.
  • Familiarity with LLM-powered systems, AI-driven search, embeddings, or machine learning workflows in production environments.
  • Strong system design skills with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in distributed teams with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Based in Europe or able to work with significant overlap with Eastern European working hours.
  • Bonus points for experience with GCP Vertex AI, Apache Iceberg, Pulumi/Terraform, Node.js, or TypeScript.

Benefits:

  • Fully remote work environment with the flexibility to work from anywhere in Europe.
  • Unlimited paid vacation policy to support work-life balance.
  • Flexible working hours with an async-friendly culture.
  • High ownership environment with minimal bureaucracy and strong autonomy.
  • Personal development support for courses, certifications, conferences, and learning resources.
  • Regular company offsites and in-person team gatherings across Europe.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and data technologies within a rapidly growing tech company.
  • Collaborative culture focused on growth, transparency, innovation, and meaningful impact.
