About the Role
IP Corporation is seeking an IT Security Manager — a pivotal hire who will partner directly with the CIO to rebuild and lead the company's cybersecurity program from the ground up. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you will own security architecture, policy review, and governance while building and internal team and managing our security vendors.
IP Corporation has a strong security culture that we are looking to take to the next level as we execute towards our strategic goals. Development of threat detection, and managed response capabilities and security best practices will be key initiatives that help define what security looks like at IP Corporation. You will shape the roadmap and grow the team over time. If you thrive in a builder role where you can make a real mark, this is the opportunity.
What You'll Do
Security Strategy & Architecture
- Own the drafting enterprise security architecture, policies, and standards, building a program aligned to NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or equivalent frameworks.
- Develop and execute a security roadmap in partnership with the CIO, prioritizing foundational controls and maturing the program over time.
- Conduct risk assessments, gap analyses, and communicate security posture to executive leadership.
Vendor & Managed Service Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact and manager for security vendors, overseeing SOC operations, threat detection, incident response, and SLA performance.
- Evaluate and manage additional security vendors and tooling as the program grows.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
- Lead vulnerability management, patch compliance tracking, and risk reporting to the CIO.
- Support applicable compliance requirements (NIST, CMMC, or relevant manufacturing frameworks).
Incident Response
- Own the incident response plan and coordinate response activities with external and internal teams..
- Lead tabletop exercises and post-incident reviews to strengthen response readiness.
Collaboration & Awareness
- Partner with IT and operations teams to embed security by design across infrastructure, applications, and OT environments.
- Drive security awareness training and foster a security-conscious culture company-wide.
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, IT, or equivalent experience.
- 5–7 years of IT/cybersecurity experience, with 2+ years in a security-focused or security leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with security frameworks (NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO 27001).
- Experience managing or working with a managed security services provider (MSSP) or MDR platform.
- Strong knowledge of vulnerability management, endpoint security, network security, and IAM.
- Experience with or exposure to cloud security — Microsoft Azure / M365 environment preferred.
- Excellent communication skills — you can translate technical risk into business language.
Preferred
- Security certification: CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial controls, or OT/ICS security.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 or NIST 800-171 compliance requirements.
- Experience as a first or early security hire — you know what it means to build, not just maintain.
Why IP Corporation
- Direct partnership with the CIO — your voice matters from day one.
- Opportunity to build and shape a security program, not inherit someone else's.
- A clear path to grow the team as the security program matures.
- Stable, manufacturing-sector company with complex and interesting IT/OT challenges.
