Service Delivery Automation Analyst in Sachseln, Obwalden at Jobgether
Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Service Delivery Automation Analyst based in Switzerland.
As a Service Delivery Automation Analyst, you will transform complex operational processes into reliable, efficient, and scalable automated workflows.
You will work at the intersection of operations, data, and technology, helping improve the accuracy and predictability of payroll processes across multiple countries.
Through hands-on automation, process analysis, and practical AI applications, you will reduce repetitive work and prevent errors before they affect payroll.
You will take ownership of defined automation projects from initial discovery and solution development through testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
Working closely with payroll specialists, operations teams, Product, Engineering, and Data, you will turn business needs into effective technical solutions.
This role offers an opportunity to apply tools such as n8n, Alteryx, SQL, APIs, and large language models to real-world operational challenges.
Map end-to-end payroll processes to understand how information moves between systems, where validation and calculations occur, and how deadlines, country-specific requirements, and exceptions affect operations.
Identify automation opportunities by evaluating repetitive tasks, manual checks, recurring issues, business impact, implementation effort, and potential risks.
Improve existing processes by removing unnecessary steps and preventing missing information, avoidable requests, and errors before they reach payroll.
Collaborate with payroll and operations specialists to translate policies and complex requirements into documented, version-controlled rules, including effective dates and required data.
Build, integrate, and maintain automated workflows using tools such as n8n, Alteryx, and LLM-based solutions, connecting service platforms, payroll systems, databases, APIs, and internal tools.
Apply AI practically to interpret requests, extract information from documents and emails, and route cases appropriately, ensuring outputs are validated before they affect payroll.
Select the right approach for each problem, combining rule-based logic, workflow automation, AI, and human review as appropriate. Keep legal and policy requirements transparent, auditable, and documented.
Build reliability into every workflow through audit trails, error handling, alerts, exception queues, and approval controls, ensuring records are not silently altered, dropped, or excluded.
Prototype and test solutions against real payroll scenarios, edge cases, and exceptions, using shadow testing and parallel runs before deploying changes to live processes.
Improve payroll operations through automated information sharing, payroll-input validation, pay-impacting exception detection, and reconciliation between payroll and invoices.
Monitor automation performance after launch, troubleshoot issues, measure outcomes, and continuously improve or retire solutions that do not deliver the expected results.
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data teams on broader platform improvements, translating operational insights into clear requirements and practical examples.
Handle sensitive payroll information responsibly by following privacy, security, and responsible-AI standards, escalating uncertain or compliance-sensitive cases for appropriate review.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in operations automation, process improvement, business or process analysis, payroll operations, internal tooling, or a related field.
Hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining production workflows using tools such as n8n, Alteryx, Make, Zapier, Power Automate, or similar platforms.
Practical experience using large language models (LLMs) to transform unstructured text and documents into usable data, with the judgment to recognise when straightforward rule-based automation is more reliable.
Experience integrating systems through APIs, webhooks, and other integration methods.
Strong SQL and data skills, including the ability to investigate, combine, validate, and analyse information from multiple sources.
Ability to structure complex processes, inconsistent inputs, and unusual cases into clear rules and data requirements.
A strong focus on accuracy, quality controls, and discrepancy investigation, particularly when errors could affect employee pay.
Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues, ask effective questions, and challenge requests constructively when automation is not the best solution.
A proactive, ownership-driven approach, with the ability to manage projects from problem identification through implementation, testing, launch, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
Comfort working with operational specialists and technical teams in a dynamic environment, taking responsibility for defined projects while contributing to wider improvements.
Nice to have:
Experience with multi-country payroll, Employer of Record (EOR) services, finance operations, or HR operations.
Understanding of payroll concepts such as gross-to-net calculations, payroll cut-offs, statutory deductions, taxable benefits, expense taxability, and reconciliation.
Experience building tools to validate or reconcile payroll or financial data.
Familiarity with Zendesk or other customer service platforms and their automation capabilities.
Hands-on experience with n8n or Alteryx, although comparable automation tools are also relevant.
Experience with prompt design, AI agents, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows.
JavaScript or Python skills for data transformations.
Experience measuring operational improvements through metrics such as first-time accuracy, processing time, service-level performance, and error rates.
