We are hiring a special education teacher to work in both of our autism ABA centers based in Augusta and Bangor. This is a year- round position and involves going to each of the centers weekly or bi-weekly. Candidates must be familiar with and embrace ABA concepts and approaches. They will work closely with our on site Board Certified Behavior Analysts and together are responsible for IEP oversight, development and implementation. Our teacher will create lesson plans, monitor progress and reporting, teach and supervise education support staff and manage the classroom. This is a year round position.

Requirements:- Minimum of 3 years experience; working with younger children with autism is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication, including the ability to work with families and train others as needed
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Solid problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in and drive between our centers in Augusta and Bangor, weekly or bi-weekly- about 15% of the time
Education:
· Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a closely related field
Credentialing Requirements:
Special Education Teachers must possess or qualify for conditional licensure of one of the Maine Department of Education (DOE) credentials:
· Teacher of Children with Disabilities (282) certification, or
· Teacher of Severely Impaired Students (286) certification
