Position Title: EHS Specialist

Location: Piedmont, South Carolina

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support environmental compliance, workplace safety, and regulatory programs within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position partners closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, human resources, and leadership to reduce risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen a culture of safety.

This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, influencing positive change, and leading initiatives that protect employees while supporting operational excellence.

What You'll Do
  • Administer and support environmental, health, and safety programs across the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections, compliance audits, hazard assessments, and environmental evaluations.
  • Lead incident, injury, near-miss, and environmental investigations using root cause analysis.
  • Develop and deliver employee EHS training, including new hire safety orientation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support equipment implementation, process improvements, and risk reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain required permits, compliance documentation, training records, SDS files, and regulatory reports.
  • Support emergency preparedness planning, regulatory inspections, and third-party audits.
  • Assist with lithium-ion battery safety programs, emergency response planning, and battery storage compliance.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, employee engagement, and 5S activities that strengthen workplace safety.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, automotive, industrial, warehouse, or distribution environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and applicable environmental and safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, hazard assessments, and corrective action management.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Experience developing and delivering employee safety training.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with EHS management systems is a plus.
