You will work directly with clients to assess, optimize, and configure systems such as Paycor, Workday, ADP, Paylocity, and UKG. The position blends technical system configuration with hands-on payroll and HR operations expertise, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across client environments. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping organizations streamline complex payroll processes and improve overall system performance. The environment is highly collaborative, flexible, and consulting-driven, with a strong focus on client impact. This is a part-time, remote role that offers autonomy, variety, and meaningful project-based work.
- Partner with clients to evaluate existing HRIS and payroll workflows, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for system and process improvement, and translating business needs into optimized configurations.
- Configure, enhance, and support HR and payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paycor, Paylocity, UKG, and similar platforms, including system cleanups, redesigns, and optimization initiatives.
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and transitions, including setup, testing, validation of payroll components, and go-live readiness.
- Assist with payroll processing and troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including complex multi-state or specialized payroll environments.
- Deliver client training, documentation, and ongoing support while serving as a key point of contact for system-related questions and issue resolution.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll and HR operations with strong exposure to HRIS and payroll platforms such as ADP, Workday, Paycor, Paylocity, UKG, Ceridian, or similar systems.
- Proven experience in system configuration, implementation, optimization, or transition projects, ideally within complex or multi-entity environments.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, taxation rules, and compliance requirements across different jurisdictions.
- Prior client-facing or consulting experience is strongly preferred, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple client projects independently.
- Experience in industries such as construction, manufacturing, or other complex payroll environments is considered a strong advantage.
- Part-time, flexible consulting arrangement with remote work from any location.
- Opportunity to work with diverse clients and complex payroll and HR systems across multiple industries.
- Flexible schedule based on project needs and client availability.
- Collaborative, people-focused culture emphasizing trust, autonomy, and impact.
- Exposure to a wide range of HRIS and payroll platforms and system transformation projects.
