Job Description

We are looking for one of the smartest family law attorneys on the planet to lead our legal team. As Managing Attorney, you will be the standard-setter: the person our associates look to for guidance, feedback, and example. You will carry your own complex caseload while owning the quality and culture of a team of 3 to 6 associate attorneys.

This role is not about running the business. Firm ownership handles operations, finances, and strategy. What you own is the legal team: their growth, their work product, their accountability, and their wins. If operational excellence matters to you because it helps real people get better outcomes, you will find this work deeply meaningful.

NOTE: This role does not include firm financial management, business development strategy, or administrative operations.

Interested in joining our team? If this opportunity sounds like a great fit, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation:

$175,000 - $200,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop 3–6 associate attorneys and paralegals. You will set clear expectations and give consistent, actionable feedback that helps people grow
  • Review and approve pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, parenting plans, and other key documents before filing or submission
  • Be the first call when a case gets complicated, providing strategic direction and steady guidance to your team
  • Conduct regular case reviews to ensure matters move forward on schedule, deadlines are met, and client communication is exemplary
  • Carry your own active caseload of complex family law matters across all of our practice areas
  • Lead client consultations on high-complexity and high-value cases
  • Partner with firm ownership on attorney hiring, performance reviews, and team development
  • Be the living embodiment of our values (integrity, empathy, and curiosity) in every client and team interaction

Qualifications:

We are not looking for someone who just checks boxes. We want someone who genuinely cares about the law, about their team, and about the people walking through our door during the hardest chapters of their lives. You can change gears quickly, think on your feet, and make smart decisions. You do not take things personally. You are a team player in every sense of the word.

One more thing: the head of this firm is a direct communicator, and that is how we operate. We say what we mean, we address issues head-on, and we expect the same from everyone on our leadership team. If you prefer to dance around hard conversations, this is not the right fit. If you thrive in an environment of clear, honest, respectful communication, you will feel right at home.

  • Active member of the State Bar of Georgia in good standing
  • Minimum 10 years of experience exclusively in family law. This is a firm requirement, not a preference
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory, senior, or lead attorney capacity, overseeing a team of attorneys
  • Deep working knowledge of O.C.G.A. Title 19 (Domestic Relations) and current Georgia case law
  • Proven courtroom experience in Georgia Superior Court; Cobb County familiarity strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated history across the full spectrum of family law: high-asset divorce, contested custody, domestic violence, legitimation, adoption, and prenuptial agreements
  • A direct, confident communicator who addresses issues head-on, gives clear feedback, and has hard conversations without hesitation or drama
  • A natural mentor who invests in people and takes real satisfaction in watching them grow
  • Detail-oriented and willing to go the extra mile to get it right the first time
  • Embraces technology and innovation and is proficient in practice management software (Lawmatics, MyCase, or similar)
  • Committed to inclusivity and respect. The clients and the team reflect the full diversity of our community, and you lead accordingly
