PART I - General Job / Performance Information
Education and Experience
The Information Security Analyst is responsible for the overall security of various network, financial, and clinical applications and/or systems. This individual will possess attention to detail, time management, communication, and strong customer service skills. This individual will be self-motivated, and enjoy working in a fast paced team environment. The Information Security Analyst is responsible for the following programs:

Education and Experience
- A bachelor degree in Information Systems or Information Security is a plus, but not required. A minimum of 4 years’ experience is highly desired. Experience with Information Technology concepts and applications are also desired.
- Works in a well-lighted, heated, and ventilated building. Hours may vary to accommodate need of other departments.
- This position requires interaction with most other UMC Department, medical staff, and technical personnel at UMC, PNS, and TTUHSC.
The Information Security Analyst is responsible for the overall security of various network, financial, and clinical applications and/or systems. This individual will possess attention to detail, time management, communication, and strong customer service skills. This individual will be self-motivated, and enjoy working in a fast paced team environment. The Information Security Analyst is responsible for the following programs:
- Information Security Assessments
- Identity & Access Management
- Security System Development Plans
- Risk Management
- Investigation of Security Incidents
- Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
- Policies, Plans & Procedures
- IT Physical Security
- Security Training and Awareness Program
- Overall protection of sensitive data (PHI, PCI, PII)
- Security+, CISA, CISM, or other similar security related certification is preferred.
- Work is a medium demand; walking, sitting, and standing most of the time while on-duty. Occasional lifting of equipment is required. Adequate hand/eye coordination and the line motor skills required for typing. Talking and hearing is essential in dealing with co-workers and customers.
- This individual will possess attention to detail, time management, communication, and strong customer services skills.
