About This Position

Sterile Processing Tech

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the manager of Sterile Processing, the Sterile Processing Technician (C ST) is responsible for the careful cleaning,

sterilizing, processing and distribution of various instruments and equipment necessary for the Operating Room and all other units throughout

the hospital.

EDUCATION

High school graduate or equivalent required.

Previous training in a Sterile Processing or Operating Room Technician course or experience in Sterile Processing or surgical setting preferred,

but will train.

LICENSURE

CERTIFICATION

Preferred that the Sterile Processing Technician will attempt to obtain certification within two years of hire date.

COMPUTER/TYPING/MATH SKILLS

JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Must possess good oral communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills required.

Must be able to write legibly.

HOURS OF WORK

Must be able to work scheduled hours as dictated by business needs including flexing up and down to volume demand.
