Traffic & Project Manager

Location: Kansas City, MO
Department: Marketing Operations
Reports To: Traffic Director
Position Type: Full Time

We’re seeking a proactive, organized and detail-oriented Traffic & Project Manager who can seamlessly blend traditional project management with traffic management functions. In this role, you’ll be a key player in the planning, execution, and delivery of marketing projects, keeping internal teams moving, managing workloads, and ensuring every piece lands on time, within budget and on strategy.

What You Will Do

Project Management

  • Lead the scheduling and execution of complex marketing projects and campaigns across multiple clients.
  • Manage project scopes, deliverables, budgets, timelines, and resourcing.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams—strategy, creative, digital, and content—to ensure alignment and timely delivery of all client work.
  • Own the workflow for priority and high-visibility projects, ensuring each stage hits its mark.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with internal teams on project updates, blockers, and next steps.
  • Participate and collaborate on communication for schedule and tactical planning updates to client as needed.
  • Identify risks early and problem-solve to keep initiatives on track.

Traffic Management
  • Partner with the Traffic Manager to oversee day-to-day team resourcing and workload management
  • Partner with marketing team to gather information to build project plans and ensure specialty teams have assets they need to do the work.
  • Help prioritize incoming requests and ensure fair, strategic allocation of work across team members.
  • Step in as needed to traffic work for other pods or departments, keeping the broader marketing and specialty teams functions running smoothly.
  • Track progress, flag bandwidth constraints, and work with team leaders to make informed scheduling decisions.
  • Maintain project tracking tools (e.g., Wrike), updating status, timelines, and assignments regularly.
  • Act as a gatekeeper for workflow consistency across projects.

Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in project management, with agency or marketing services experience preferred·
  • Demonstrated experience in traffic management, resource planning, or creative operations·
  • Familiarity with creative, content, social, and web or interactive workflows·
  • Comfort working across multiple clients and managing several concurrent projects·
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance priorities and keep work on track·
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills·
  • Confidence partnering with cross-functional teams and navigating competing priorities·
  • Experience using project management platforms (Trello, Asana, etc), with Wrike preferred·
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and OneDrive·
  • Bonus: Experience supporting marketing, creative, or content production teams
