This job is for machinists who care about the work and the results. As a Machinist II, you’ll set up and run a range of conventional, special-purpose, and NC machines to produce quality parts that meet print and hold tolerance. You’ll use your hands, your head, and your experience to keep machines running right and parts coming off the way they should.

What You’ll DoYou’ll take ownership of your work from setup to finished part.

Read and work from blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to understand dimensions, tolerances, setups, and machining sequence

Measure, mark, and scribe materials and work pieces to guide machining

Set up machines by selecting and securing fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials

Calculate, set, and adjust speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut

Load, retrieve, and edit CNC programs as needed

Start machines and keep an eye on them, spotting problems before they turn into scrap

Make adjustments when parts are out of tolerance to keep quality on track

Inspect finished parts to make sure they meet print and quality requirements

Run trial parts to verify machine setup and program accuracy

Troubleshoot machining and program issues and make corrections at the machine

Verify and adjust common G and M codes to keep machines cutting the way they should

Run higher-complexity machines and tools with confidence and care

Work with engineers, programmers, and production teammates to solve machining or assembly issues

Take part in continuous improvement efforts, including Lean practices, machine PMs, 5S, and Kaizen events

Understand how your daily work ties into production goals and area boards

Know your tooling and machine limits and work within them

Hold yourself and others to high ethical and workmanship standards

Handle other duties as needed

What You BringYou’ve paid your dues and know your way around the shop.

High School diploma or GED with at least two years of machining experience, or an equivalent mix of education and hands-on work

Proven mastery as a Machinist I, ready to operate at the Machinist II level

Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and CNC operation

Ability to follow safety rules, work instructions, and procedures without cutting corners

Solid math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and standard units of measure

Work EnvironmentThis is hands-on shop work.

Regular exposure to moving machinery, vibration, and loud noise

Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles

Occasional exposure to extreme heat (non-weather related)

Physical RequirementsRegularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds

Stand, walk, and move around the shop throughout the shift

Use hands for handling tools, materials, and machine controls

Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Ability to communicate and hear clearly in a manufacturing environment
