Director of Quality, Patient Experience and Patient Safety - Quality Resource Management at Lima Memorial Health System – Lima, Ohio
About This Position
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, strategic priorities, and regulatory requirements, the Director of Quality, Patient Experience, and Patient Safety provides system-level leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality, safety, patient experience, and infection prevention programs across Lima Memorial Health System (LMHS).This role is accountable for ensuring organizational compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and reporting standards, including but not limited to The Joint Commission, CMS, and state and federal requirements. The Director serves as the organizational lead for quality oversight, performance improvement, patient safety, infection prevention, and high reliability principles, ensuring these disciplines are fully integrated into daily operations and clinical practice. The Director develops, executes, and monitors an operational quality and safety plan aligned with the health system’s strategic plan. In partnership with executive leadership, physicians, clinical leaders, and support departments, this role champions a culture of transparency, accountability, continuous learning, and just culture. The Director leads system-wide efforts to advance high reliability organizing, reduce variation, improve outcomes, elevate the patient and family experience, and sustain measurable improvements in quality and safety performance.
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or other healthcare related field is required. Master's degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Candidates with a degree in a health care profession must have an active Ohio license. CPHQ certification, LEAN/Six-Sigma, project management or other applicable improvement methodologies are strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years quality improvement experience required. Prior leadership/management experience strongly preferred.
Skills: Must have strong leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must also have exceptional interpersonal skills including the demonstrated ability to persuade through consensus-building, accomplish difficult tasks through others, and the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders. A passion for enhancing quality and a focus on performance improvement are also required. Must have basic competency with probability and statistics and be proficient with Microsoft products including Word, Excel and Power Point.
