The following duties and responsibilities are all essential functions of the position of Accounting Analyst. They are not in order of importance or priority. General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and interprets complex financial reports, performance tracking, analytical modeling for revenue and asset replacement forecasts to provide decision support for the Chief Financial Officer.
- Prepares and administers complex contracts and grant administration.
- Performs complex financial calculations and analysis; prepare comprehensive financial studies, statistics, statements, and reports.
- Assists in the development of accounting and audit control methods, systems and procedures to comply with accounting procedures, laws, ordinances and regulations, including the development of formal statements of procedures for current accounting practices.
- Coordinates all financial and statistical information required for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Plan on a timely basis, including footnote disclosures and narratives.
- Assists executive staff in compiling data for union negotiations.
- Conducts various operational audits to identify opportunities to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and improve program effectiveness, to determine whether desired goals and objectives are achieved.
- Handles materials and information of a highly sensitive and confidential nature requiring the exercise of independent judgment, personal initiative, and confidentiality.
- Performs other related work as required or assigned.
Minimum requirements at entry:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.
- Minimum of three years of professional accounting experience, including experience with computerized accounting systems and software.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
