Job Function
The outside sales representative conducts sales appointments and prospecting activity to develop ‘new business’ revenues within their geographic territory via face-to-face meetings, marketing outreach via email/telephone. They are responsible for exceeding customer expectations providing technical product knowledge, demonstrated value propositions to close sales, increasing profits and revenue to meet their budgeted sales forecasts.
Mandatory Requirements
- 5 years’ outside technical sales experience, demonstrated track record
- Diploma or Degree – Business
- Clear, advanced articulation and professional representation
- Technology proficient on CRM, MS Office, and ERP systems
Job Responsibilities
- Serves customers by probing needs, presenting product demonstrations, knowledge and meeting customer expectations.
- Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
- Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealer/supply chain channels, and development of needed areas
- Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Ensures customers receive their goods/services and expedites resolution of issues to facilitate full satisfaction
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Updates CRM records with all sales and business development activities maintaining
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
