Scherer Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from concept through closeout. This role owns project planning, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and field coordination while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate is strategic, detail-oriented, and relationship-driven, with a proven ability to deliver ground-up commercial projects on time and within budget while representing Scherer Construction with professionalism and integrity.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead the full project lifecycle including preconstruction, buyout, scheduling, execution, and closeout
Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and change orders
Build and maintain detailed project schedules; drive look-ahead planning with superintendents
Select, negotiate, contract, and manage subcontractors and suppliers
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies
Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients to foster long-term relationships
Produce and manage documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, pay applications, and project reporting
Coordinate closely with field teams to ensure seamless execution and issue resolution
Identify risks proactively and implement solutions to maintain project performance
710+ years of commercial construction Project Management experience (ground-up required)
Proven success delivering projects on schedule and within budget
Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, contracts, and cost controls
Advanced computer proficiency, including Excel, Procore, and MS Project
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
Established network of subcontractors and industry relationships preferred
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
Professional certifications such as Associate Constructor (AC), Certified Professional Constructor (CPC), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) are a plus
