About This Position

SUMMARY

The flight Agent is responsible to ensure the correct paperwork is in place for shipments to be exported. The Flight Agent coordinates with the Export Agents and the Flight Coordinator all necessary documentation for each scheduled flight. The flight Agent is responsible to segregate the documents into different packages to ensure compliance with all regulated agencies such as Customs in the US and International. And, be able to assist in other areas of the Export Department such as AWB entry and splitting of documents.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verifies the routing of the flight that the agent will be working on. Such as flight crews, aircraft being used, and time of departure. Coordinates with the Flight Coordinator to obtain all necessary pallets that are being loaded on the flight.
  • Prints the pallet load sheet to ensure all the airway bills are accounted for on each pallet and prints the pallets and weight report to check against the pallet load sheet report once printed.
  • Checks all the airway bills for correct customs information before printing the manifest.
  • Communicate with the Flight Coordinator of any airway bills that are not accounted for once the flight has been completed.
  • Ensure all the necessary documentation packages are is processed and completed at least two hours prior to the flight departure.
  • Ensure flight clearance with US customs is done 1 hour prior to departure.
  • Ensure the document packages are taken to the correct aircraft and placed in the cock pit

  • SKILLS, EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have good attention to detail, this includes continuously monitoring shipments from the point of receipt to delivery
  • Must be familiar with computer programs, ie; Microsoft Office, AES, Geneva, as well as have a customer service background
  • A self-starter attitude is required, must be able to work effectively with minimal to no supervision

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Physical Demands

    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
