As a Senior Project Manager, Special Projects, you’ll lead complex, high-impact developments that expand access to affordable housing through innovative partnerships.This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, development, and mission-driven work.What You’ll DoYou’ll lead projects from concept to completion:Project LeadershipManage full lifecycle of development projects—from feasibility to closeout Define scope, budgets, and timelines aligned with strategic goals Identify risks and drive proactive solutions Planning & Pre-DevelopmentLead feasibility, site planning, and entitlement strategies Coordinate architects, engineers, and consultants Oversee design phases and permitting processes Ensure projects are cost-effective and community-focused Partnership ManagementServe as the key contact for developers, municipalities, and partners Support development agreements and partnership structures Align diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes Construction OversightPartner with construction teams to ensure seamless execution Monitor progress, budgets, and quality across multiple projects Support issue resolution and change management Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with land acquisition, finance, and community engagement teams Ensure alignment with funding requirements and program goals Provide updates to leadership and stakeholders Financial & Project ControlsManage budgets, contingencies, and cost tracking Support financial modeling and funding coordination Prepare materials for executive and board-level reporting What You BringBachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in construction, real estate, planning, or related field 5–7+ years of experience in development or project management Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects Strong understanding of pre-development, design, and construction Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple priorities Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills Proficiency in project tools (Procore, BuildPro, MS Office) Expert knowledge of building products, plan reading, construction details and relevant construction rules, regulations, and quality standards• Mastery of current building codes, regulations, and manufacturer’s specifications. Mastery of general carpentry skills and residential construction techniques. Able to read, analyze and interpret into plain English general construction documents and drawings. Thorough knowledge of safety hazards and necessary precautions. Must have reliable transportation to and from jobsites and office, a clean driving record and ability to be insured. Work Environment:
The employee’s job activities occur inside and outside of the office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The employee is subject to hazards. This includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, high places, and exposure to chemicals. The employee is also exposed to atmospheric conditions that could affect the respiratory system such as fumes, odors, dust, gases, mist and or poor ventilation.
Physical Activity & Requirements:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, grasp, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, push, and pull. Hearing, talking, and vision abilities required by this job include perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, expressing or exchanging ideas be means of the spoken word and close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading. The employee will also be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operate machines, such as hand and power tools and motor vehicles where seeing is at or within arm’s reach; performs mechanical or skilled trade tasks of non-repetitive nature.
Job Requirements:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Occasionally, this position requires long hours. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings.
