About This Position

Youth Behavioral Health Clinician

  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
    • he Youth Behavioral Health Clinician works in The Youth Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), a time-limited and structured outpatient behavioral health treatment program for individuals aged 12 – 17. The Youth IOP can provide an effective alternative to an acute care admission or to an ED visit, and can be coordinated with other outpatient providers. Milieu-based treatment is provided by a multidisciplinary behavioral health team including child psychiatrists and licensed clinicians.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
    • Experience:
      • Experience in psychiatric, community mental health, or health care setting in direct care provision including individual, family, and group treatment.
      • Experienced in using measures for establishing baselines and monitoring data registry outcomes for common conditions like depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, substance use disorders.
      • Proven knowledge of community, outpatient behavioral health, and SUD treatment resources.
      • Proficiency in care coordination, managed care contact and discharge planning
      • Knowledge of community and state agency as well BH / SUD treatment resources.
    • Education and Training:
      • Master’s degree in clinical social work or related healthcare field required.
    • License, Certification & Registration:
      • LCLILM - Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in MA or LHMC Licensed Mental Health Counselor in MA.
      • CPR Certified.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Effective communication skills with patients, family, physicians, ancillary providers.
      • Ability to form rapid engagement and alliance building with patients.
      • Ability to maintain and monitor confidentiality of patient records.
      • Ability to work in an independent and self-directed manner.
      • Ability to learn new duties and adjust to change.
