About This Position

Job Summary
Assists the Chief Nursing Officer in providing oversight, guidance and leadership to assigned departments. Provides operational oversight and clinical direction for nursing services within the EPCHD. Oversees the daily operations of nursing departments to ensure efficient, high-quality care is delivery. Administers, analyzes and appraises the care given to patients. Advises hospital management status of patient care, budgetary projections and quality improvement processes. Anticipates and estimates future needs of the departments to improve quality of patient care. Provides leadership, managerial support and direction for achieving strategic goals and providing excellent patient care.

4. Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
5. Proven leadership ability, with demonstrated success in engendering trust, confidence, and commitment of medical staff.
6. Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out projects or change initiatives of significant magnitude.

Work Experience
Seven years of supervisory or management experience is required.
Ten years of direct patient care experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital/healthcare setting is required.

License/Registration/Certification
Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is required.
Current CPR training is preferred.
National Certification as a Nurse Leader, Nurse Executive or Nursing Professional Development is highly preferred.

Education and Training
Bachelor degree in Nursing is required. Master degree is required, preferably in Nursing Administration or Business Administration.
