Job Description
Veterinary Technician | Surgery | 1st shift | 4 Ten Hour Shifts Per Week, typical start time is between 7am & 9am | $19-26 /hr Depending On Experience | Full-Time Benefits | Monroeville, PA

- Veterinary Technician License (LVT, CVT, or RVT) preferred, but not required
- Foundational veterinary knowledge, including patient restraint, triage, imaging, laboratory skills, and venipuncture.
- Previous experience in anesthesia or surgical support is a plus—but not essential.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to stay calm and organized under pressure.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.

What You’ll Do
As a key member of our high performing surgical team, you’ll be involved in every step of the patient care journey—from pre-surgical assessment to post-operative recovery and discharge.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with surgical admissions, patient assessments, and client communication.
- Supporting surgical consults and recheck appointments, including patient handling, radiographs, and procedural preparation.
- Monitoring anesthesia and patient vitals throughout surgery and recovery to ensure comfort and safety.
- Performing venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and other technical procedures with care and accuracy.
- Acting as a sterile assistant and scrub technician, maintaining aseptic technique and surgical readiness.
- Maintaining complete and accurate medical records, daily charges, and discharge documentation.
- Reviewing at-home care instructions with clients to ensure clear understanding and continued support.
- Providing exceptional nursing care, empathy, and advocacy for every patient.
- Assisting with hospitalized and emergency transfer patients as needed
