Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Therapist provides evidence-based therapy services across multiple outpatient settings within the hospital system, supporting integrated behavioral health care in collaboration with medical providers. This position focuses on delivering Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-based interventions to address sleep disorders, chronic pain, and mental health concerns in specialty medical clinics, while also providing psychotherapy within an outpatient behavioral health clinic. The Therapist plays a key role in improving patient outcomes, enhancing treatment adherence, and supporting overall health and wellness.
Job Duties:
Integrated Medical Care Services
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams in sleep, orthopedic, oncology, and other specialty clinics to provide behavioral health consultation and intervention.
- Deliver Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) in coordination with sleep medicine providers.
- Provide CBT-based interventions for chronic pain management in orthopedic and oncology settings.
- Address comorbid mental health concerns (e.g., depression, anxiety, adjustment to illness, treatment adherence) in medically complex populations.
- Participate in care coordination, treatment planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide education to patients and medical staff regarding behavioral health factors impacting medical conditions.
Outpatient Behavioral Health Services
- Provide individual psychotherapy using evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, ACT, and related approaches).
- Develop treatment plans and provide clinical recommendations based on assessment findings.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Program Development and Quality Improvement
- Support development of integrated behavioral health services within medical clinics.
- Assist with program evaluation, outcome measurement, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote patient-centered care and best practices in integrated healthcare delivery.
- Master’s degree/licensure required; independent practitioner including LCSW, LPC, or PhD.
- Licensed or license-eligible psychologist in Arkansas.
- Training and experience in evidence-based psychotherapy, particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
- Strong interpersonal and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Experience in integrated healthcare or medical settings.
- Training or certification in CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I).
- Experience in behavioral medicine, health psychology, or pain management.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and interdisciplinary care models.
- Expertise in evidence-based psychological interventions.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with medical professionals.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered, culturally responsive care.
Essentials:
- Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
