The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Team Lead who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. In this role, you will lead and grow a team of mechanical engineers while working cross-functionally to develop next-generation battery and powertrain technologies for mobility and consumer product applications.
This role balances management with hands-on technical work. Initially, you'll split your time roughly equally between leading the team and contributing to mechanical engineering development. As the team scales, the balance will shift toward leadership. It's an ideal role for someone ready to step into management while staying connected to the technical work.
What You'll Do
Lead and mentor mechanical engineers at various career levels, supporting their technical and professional growth Oversee the team's technical strategy and ensure adherence to best practices and design standards Participate in technical design reviews and contribute hands-on to engineering work Allocate team workload across multiple concurrent projects, balancing priorities and timelines Estimate engineering effort for new projects and help scope work accurately Identify and procure the software, tools, and resources needed for effective mechanical development and test Drive hiring and team growth aligned with company needs Collaborate across engineering, project management, operations, clients, and executives Support client-facing interactions as neededQualifications You'll Bring
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of technical education and experience 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical projects from concept through production Strong mechanical design background, including DFx principles (DFM, DFA, DFT) Track record of taking hardware from concept through development, test, certification, and production Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools Ability to create and implement processes for development and test of mechanical designs Clear, effective communicator with engineers, clients, vendors, and executives Highly organized, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWhat Makes You Stand Out

The salary range represents the expected base salary for this role. The actual offer will be based on a variety of factors, including knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience. In addition to base salary, full-time employees are eligible for equity/bonus programs and a comprehensive benefits package.
The pay range for this role is:165,000 - 190,000 USD per year(South San Francisco )
